The European Affairs Consulting Group is looking for a highly motivated Trainee to reinforce its Public Affairs team in Brussels.

Who are we?

The European Affairs Consulting Group (EACON) is a public affairs and government relations consultancy firm specialising in European Affairs. Since our foundation in 2003, we help companies, associations, NGOs and public sector bodies to understand political developments and represent their interests in legislative processes.

 

EACON has invaluable institutional knowledge from experience dealing with European and national parliaments, authorities and administrations. We have used this expertise successfully for the benefit of our clients over the years.

 

In the context of the current dynamic and challenging European Public Affairs environment, EACON is offering a unique learning experience for future professionals in the area of EU Law and Public Affairs.

 

We are looking for a paid trainee who will be working together with EACON’s team of consultants for a period of 6 months, starting from January 2024.

Your main responsibilities

  • Monitoring and analysing policy initiatives and developments at both Member State and EU level
  • Providing legal research and analysis on various policy areas on request
  • Supporting the implementation of Public Affairs activities for our clients, including assistance in the organization and coordination of event such as workshops, conferences and meetings with EU-policymakers, industry represetatives and other important stakeholders
  • Participating in internal and external events (e.g. policy conferences, European Parliament hearings and workshops), taking notes and reporting on them
  • Providing administrative support to the EU Public Affairs team such as scheduling meetings, managing databases and handling correspondence
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • University degree in European Studies, European Law, Politics or similar field, with a focus on a sound understanding of EU policy and decision-making processes
  • Excellent (C-Level) communications skills in English and German required (spoken and written)
  • Strong research abilities and analytical skills
  • Good social and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and develop within a fast-paced working environment
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • A keen interest in EU affairs, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude towards learning and personal development
